Ever wonder how to do a "kegel" properly and be able to do one while doing something functional such as squatting, carrying something, or during exercise?! Then, the Postpartum breathing workshop is for you (and your friends)! This 1-hour workshop, led by Rachel Ross, pelvic health physical therapist, will teach you why it is important to restore normal breathing patterns for optimal core and pelvic floor function after having a baby. You will learn the anatomy and function of the diaphragm, abdominals, and pelvic floor followed by breathing instruction and practice on how to coordinate your breath with your abdominals and pelvic floor (a fancy way of saying how to do a kegel). Then, put your breathing practice into function! Learn how to breathe properly to lift your child, groceries, or the laundry basket, when squatting, and with exercise.
